An Epic Games Store account is free, and the game offers are available to all users, so having an account can be a good way to try out new game titles for anyone looking to bolster their library. In addition, there’s no need to worry about losing the games after the week is over, as any game downloaded during the offer is available to keep forever.

Pandemic is perhaps the most complicated of the three games which will be offered. In it, players work together in order to combat and cure a host of global diseases. It essentially functions as an elaborate puzzle, with all the humans using teamwork, strategy, and a variety of special abilities to combat the game’s mechanics, which attempt to force an endgame scenario. It’s a good test of forward planning, though there’s no way to play against other people.
Carcassonne is a competitive game based around building a kingdom by placing a variety of square tiles on the board. While the actual gameplay is rather difficult to explain, it essentially revolves around arranging tiles into specific formations in order to gain points. Like any strategy game, planning is important, though Carcassonne tends to have more on the fly decision making, as players often won’t have the tile they’re looking for.
Ticket to Ride is another competitive game, this one based off of the boom in the railroad industry in 1800s America. Players take turns attempting to build the most successful railroad empire, while completing hidden contracts to earn points. Ticket to Ride can be made as competitive as players want to make it, based around how aggressive they are in interfering with other player’s routes.
Anyone who has interest in any of the above might want to check out the Epic Games Store. After all, it’s all completely free, but only for a week.
Pandemic, Carcassonne, and Ticket to Ride are all currently available on PC.

Normally, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, developed by Warhorse Studios, would cost $29.99, and Aztez, developed by Team Colorblind, would cost $19.99. Considering an Epic Game Store account is free, anyone interested in both games and who has a Windows PC can save about $50.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set in the early 15th century in the kingdom of Bohemia, a part of the Holy Roman Empire– a loose conglomeration of states with very little central authority. The player character is a common man named Henry, whose life is thrown into chaos and a journey for revenge, as a result of the many destabilizing factors ravaging his now strife-ridden homeland. Kingdom Come is notable for its strong focus on historical accuracy and general realism, so players looking for an open-world RPG with a more grounded setting should give it a try. Only the base version of the game is free however, so anyone who enjoys it can also feel free to purchase the available expansions.
Moving from the early into the late 15th century and across the ocean to the Americas is Aztez, a brutal and highly stylized fighting game set in the Aztec Empire, prior to the Spanish conquest. Expect fast-paced combat against a variety of enemies, all rendered primarily in black, white, and a whole lot of red. A more unorthodox feature that Aztez possesses is that it functions as a turn-based strategy game between its hack and slash gameplay. This gives the game a level of planning to it as well, allowing for a sort of metagame.
Anyone with any interest in either of these games might want to check out the Epic Games Store sooner rather than later. After all, they’ll only be free for a week. After that, they will no longer be listed on the Epic Games Store as free, already having been replaced by the next free game, announced to be a card game called Faeria.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Aztez are both currently available for PC.
