Eranog Strategy Guide
Eranog is a two-phase fight. Phase 1 is where a bulk of the mechanics take place and you can damage the boss. Phase 2 is an intermission where you will need to focus fire one of the Primal Flames that spawn, otherwise you’ll die.
Eranog Phase 1
Phase 1 will feature the raid grouping up like so.
The tank will want to face the boss away from the group due to Molten Cleave. Players targeted with Flamerift will want to move out of the raid and drop them close to each other, as indicated by the red circles. These Flamerift pools make the Primal Flames in Phase 2 invulnerable, so you want to make sure they’re dropped properly. Additionally, adds will spawn that focus on players. They should die with AOE/cleave damage.
Slowly move the boss in a circle around the room, so you have plenty of room to drop new Flamerift pools in a way that doesn’t screw the raid for Phase 2.
Tanks will also swap when they have between 4 to 8 stacks of Burning Wound. Healers should be aware when Eranog casts Incinerating Roar, as a lot of burst damage will be dealt to the raid. Mass Dispel is great for dealing with the fire debuff.
Eranog Phase 2
Phase 2 begins when Eranog reaches 100 Energy. This happens every 90 seconds. The Primal Flame adds will spawn in a circle around the room and move towards the center. It is the raid’s job to designate a targeted add and focus fire it down immediately. If need be, use cooldowns here. It is absolutely vital to kill these adds, otherwise, the raid will wipe.
Eranog himself deals constant AOE damage that needs to be healed through.
Eranog Heroic Mode
On Heroic Mode, Eranog will use the Molten Spikes mechanic. He spawns them on the ground and has them erupt, dealing damage to anyone standing on top of them. When Eranog casts Incinerating Roar, all of the Molten Spikes are destroyed. Players standing near them will take damage.
Eranog Loot Table
The ilvl for Eranog’s Loot Table varies by the raid’s difficulty. Normal loot has an ilvl of 389, Heroic 402, and Mythic 415. One rare item has a higher ilvl.
