Along with a new region and a bunch of quests, the Blackwood expansion also introduced some new Mythic Items. One of these is the Gaze of Sithis, a Heavy Helmet that grants some really interesting bonuses. Like all Mythic Items, the Gaze of Sithis isn’t easy to find, requiring players to utilize both the Scrying and Excavation skill trees.

Scrying for Leads in Elder Scrolls Online

Before players can begin searching for the Gaze of Sithis, they’ll first need to have unlocked the Scrying and Excavation skill trees. These are only available to players who own The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor, and who have completed the introductory quest for the Antiquities system.

The Scrying skill allows players to uses Leads to find fragments of the Antiquity they’re searching for. Only players with the ability to Scry Master Difficulty leads will be able to find the fragments of the Gaze of Sithis. The Leads themselves are scattered across the Blackwood area:

Glass Skeletal Visage: A random drop from all Bosses in the Blackwood Public Dungeon Zenithar’s Abbey. Nisswo Sacramental Wraps: A random drop from all Bosses in the Blackwood Public Dungeon Forgotten Crypt. Pad-Sa Shark Teeth: A random drop from the Kwama Overseer Boss in Shadowfen’s Onkobra Kwama Mine Delve. Ritual Circlet: A drop from Velidreth, the final boss of the Cradle of Shadows Dungeon in Shadowfen. This lead is a drop in both normal and veteran difficulty levels. Preserved Wraxu Feathers: This Lead requires players to have unlocked the Shadowy Supplier passive skill at Rank 4 of the Dark Brotherhood skill tree. This will give them access to Remains-Silent, a special NPC found in Outlaw’s Refuges across Tamriel. Once every 20 hours players can ask Remains-Silent for supplies, giving them a chance of receiving this Lead.

Assembling the Gaze of Sithis in Elder Scrolls Online

Once players have successfully Scryed a Lead, they’ll be given an area in which to perform the Excavation. Following the objective will allow players to unearth the five fragments of the Gaze of Sithis, which will automatically assemble itself afterwards.

Like all Mythic Items, the Gaze of Sithis has an incredibly powerful, game-changing set bonus. Specifically, it grants huge bonuses to Maximum Health, Health Recovery, and Armor. However, the Gaze of Sithis also reduces Block Mitigation to 0, effectively rendering Blocking pointless. Because of this, players will have to think carefully when working the Gaze of Sithis into their ESO build.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
